The Federal Government has established 2 national mental health lived experience peak bodies to each represent the following groups:
* consumers - National Mental Health Consumer Alliance
* families, carers and kin - Mental Health Carers Australia
These peak bodies will ensure people with lived and living experience of mental ill-health can help improve the mental health system and services.

Alternatives to Suicide
Alt2Su meetings use a peer-based approach to supporting people who have made suicidal attempts or who have experienced suicidal thoughts. Peer-to-peer mutual support groups provide a space for voicing, sitting with, understanding and moving through suicidal thoughts. People from anywhere in Australia can attend these group as they are currently run online via Zoom.

MHACA provide a range of psychosocial supports to people living in central Australia. Includes a drop-in centre, groups,1-1 support and care coordination for people with complex needs. (Not BPD specific).
