  • DBT Program
  • The Program strengthens a person’s ability to handle distress without losing control or acting destructively.
  • Is suitable for patients with Borderline Personality Disorder, focusing on improving emotion regulation, interpersonal effectiveness, distress tolerance and developing mindfulness skills.
  • The DBT group runs from 10 am – 1 pm on Wednesdays.
  • To be eligible for the program, participants need to be covered by private health insurance, third part insurance or be self-funded. A referral is required.

Launceston

Head to Health Walk in Mental Health Service
This is a service for adults in Launceston who are seeking emotional wellbeing and mental health support. Family and friends of people experiencing mental illness can also seek information and advice through the centre. This is a free service and no appointments are necessary.   • Launceston Head to Health centre is open Monday to Friday 9:00am to 5:00 pm at 62-64 Canning Street.
  • Head to Health After Hours Service is available Monday to Friday 5:00pm to 9:00pm, and Saturday, Sunday, and Public Holidays 10:00 am to 2:00 pm.

The Safe Place Mobile Café (East Coast Mobile Van)
The Safe Place Café is one of a number of community initiatives being trialed in the Bicheno and Break O’Day areas as part of the Tasmanian component of the National Suicide Prevention Trial, supported by Primary Health Tasmania. Facebook and  Click here for more information.

Mental Health Families and Friends Tasmania

Mental Health Family and Friends Tasmania is the primary organisation providing systemic advocacy for and with mental health families and friends in Tasmania. They run face to face and online education and informational sessions and carer support meetings for carers living in Tasmania. (not BPD specific). Click here to view upcoming sessions.
