COVID survey for people with lived-experience of BPD

To guide our future advocacy we have developed a survey in collaboration with Spectrum Personality Service to explore the general well-being of people with BPD during COVID-19 pandemic and their experiences of telehealth

The COVID-19 outbreak has led to considerable changes to our economy, society and healthcare system. Apart from general community stress related to COVID-19, we have also had to adapt to additional challenges during the outbreak. Isolating from friends, relatives and broader society as well as navigating the rapid shift of face-to-face mental healthcare services to telehealth, has imposed additional stressors especially on people with increased vulnerability.

The early consequences of these recent and dramatic changes are unknown.

Telehealth seems to be the current buzz word, with a lot of interest on how to expand it in the future. However, we feel it’s vital to understand whether telehealth is an appropriate alternative - instead of, or as an additional option - to services for people with BPD. We want to know whether telehealth is working for both parties - the person with BPD and the provider, when you may prefer telehealth, and how access to technology impacted your experiences.

To guide our future advocacy we have developed a survey in collaboration with Spectrum Personality Service to explore the general well-being of people with BPD during COVID-19 pandemic and their experiences of telehealth. We invite everyone who (i) currently resides in Australia and (ii) identifies with having a BPD diagnosis or traits to paticipate.
